The STEP-ALIVE vision is to teach our youth how to better focus on his or her abilities and how to have a more positive interaction with their peers and adults thru improved communication skills.

The STEP-ALIVE vision is to teach every student that participate in the Basically Stepping and Mentoring Program how to teach the Art of Stepping and it’s history while preserving the original and traditional style of the dance, so it may be properly passed down to the youth of the future.

Stepping is a desired participation that requires discipline; therefore resistance to learn is at a zero low.  Students come to learn the art of Stepping unaware of the life and social skills that they will gain during the process.

Our vision is to expand the STEP-ALIVE organization as mentors and to continue to introduce the Art of Stepping as instructors to educational systems nation wide.  We want to see the STEP-ALIVE" Basically Stepping and Mentoring Program" become a standardized part of the daily school curriculum that can be taught during physical education, or other classes where fitness plays a part and can be taught by in- house staff or teachers with proper training.

Students taught this art form are truly enriched while learning, it boost self esteem, teaches cooperation and unity.  This dance (art form) is now crossing all ethnic classes, and is being taught to children as young as 7 years of age all the way thru adulthood.  Tested and approved by the Chicago Public School systems and the Las Vegas Clark County School District.  Our structured program teaches the students the How’s, When’s Why’s of Stepping.  We've created a course study that allows even the youngest and slowest students to learn.

Step-Alive Instructors

BASICALLY STEPPING AND MENTORING PROGRAM

Our objective is to train the teacher/staff within educational and other institutional systems, an art form of dance that will enhance the social, physical, mental and other necessary life skills of their students.

The instructors  will be able to teach their students how to partner with one another as ladies and gentleman with respect and sensitivity that will create a pleasant environment, which speaks correctly for the culture and diversity of the Art of Stepping without giving up the fun. They will be taught how to boost their students self-esteem while learning the basic steps of this art. When dancing and executing different routines, students will be able to integrate their own style into this art of dance call Stepping.

There will be unexpected respect received by the teacher/staff from their students because stepping is a desired participation that requires discipline; therefore it becomes less difficult to teach.  Students are taught how to better focus on his or her ability and how to have a more positive interaction with their peers.  One on one or in a group setting, the STEP-ALIVE system helps to develop better communication skills between fellow students and adults.

Clark County - Las Vegas, NV - Middle and High School Steppers - May 10, 2008

STEP-ALIVE has designed a ten week curriculum which ensures the youngest, slowest and often times the most challenged student will learn.   Students of this art form are enriched daily while performing it.  STEP-ALIVE's physical and mental exercise method of teaching helps students to maintain a positive and open mind about what they are learning from start to finish.  This program fully complies with National Health and Wellness Policy addressing the recommendations on physical and social activities.

STEP-ALIVE's Basically Stepping and Mentoring Program not only teaches students to perform the art of stepping, but also to teach it to their peers.  Based on ability, when this art form is taught correctly and in the proper environment it will expand out into their communities in places like churches, park districts, YMCAs, Boy’s and Girls Club and family units everywhere.  The important elements of respect, social grace, creativity, social etiquette and heightened sense of self worth are all keys of success when mastering this art.

STEP-ALIVE's recommendations for a successful Basically Stepping and Mentoring Program should start and finish with action and discipline.
